Employment Law

Next to family or romantic relationships, an employment relationship is often the most important thing in your life. When your career path or work environment change suddenly, the stress can be overwhelming.

At Confluence Law, we understand that money is only one piece of the puzzle, and that each client has different needs and priorities as they strive to move forward and find closure.

If you are a business owner, you know that HR issues are time consuming and stressful. Timely and practical legal advice is therefore critical.

We offer legal advice and strategy to individuals and businesses, to guide all stages of the employment relationship, including:

  • TERMINATIONS: review and advice on termination packages
(either by direct representation or in a support role)

  • HIRING: review and negotiation support of employment offers and contracts

  • LEAVES: navigation of disability and parental leave

  • COMPLAINTS: support during a harassment complaint or workplace investigation

  • TRANSITIONS: support and advice during changes to employment
(i.e. demotions, changes to salary / benefits, promotions or relocations)

  • LinkedIn Social Icon

The land on which I practice law and raise my family is the traditional territory of the people of Treaty 7 region, which includes the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations, the Tsuut’ina First Nation and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region III.

This land acknowledgment is intended to honour and recognize indigenous peoples as a small step towards reconciliation.
